The Origins of Electronic Music EssayIn Why a sad song says so much. by Sun-Herald Sandra Garrido says In the case of music, people seem to actually enjoy feeling sad. Its an interesting paradox,â⬠(Sandra Garrido Sun-Herald )Sandra Garrido who has a PhD in music psychology, discusses about how sad songs make people feel better. This is in contrast to how people usually try to avoid situations that make them sad but with music people encourage sad songs. Music can also be looked at rom a Psychological stand point. Music plays a huge role psychologically. People feel more mentally sound through music. In Why a Sad Song Says So Much, it states that,â⬠Some people need a little more guidance on how to use music particularly people with depression and things like that who will benefit from developing strategies to control their moods, (Sandra Garrido Sun- Herald ) Music can help people with in a depression. The music can get someone to feel in a somewhat different mood and get them out of whatever the reason for their depression is. Music has the ability to help cure a mental illness. A Midsummer Night Dream Essays - Demetrius, Hermia,
A Midsummer Night Dream Jennifer Lopez Period 7 English Book Report The Mixed up Troubles of Love A Midsummers Night Dream is one of Shakespeares romantic/comedy plays. This play is about love and all the troubles that it brings to people. It also has a side story about a pompous actor who has a mysterious dream in the forest. The four main characters are all trying to find love with one another and when magic is involved it causes more cause between the four than it does to help. The play is set in Monte Athena, Italy in the nineteenth century. The main characters are the four lovers Hermia, Lysander, Helena and Demetrius. The Duke and his fianc?e Queen Hipolyta, Puck the mischievous creature who is half man half goat, the Fairy King Obecca and the Fairy Queen Titania. It starts out as Egeus, a wealthy Athenian, brings a problem upon Duke Theseus. Egeus wants to marry his daughter Hermia off to Demetrius, but she refuses because she is in love with Lysander, who her father does not approve of. Because Hermia is disobeying her father by not wanting to marry Demetrius, whom she does not love, she will either have to marry Demetrius or die. The other alternative the Duke gives Hermia is to become a prioress for the rest of her life. The couple leaves the meeting with the Duke and they decide to run off together to another town, where they can be wed and live in happiness. The only person they tell about their plan is Helena. Helena agrees to help because she is in love with Demetrius, although he does not return the love for her. She was once seduced by him but he was through with her after their little affair. She follows him everywhere and will not leave him be. So Helena decides to tell Demetrius of Hermia and Lysanders so she can follow him into t he woods and be with him. In another part of Athena a sign is posted of a dramatic competition with a rewarded prize for the winner. The winners will have to perform their play for the Duke and his wife on their wedding day. Here we are introduced to Nick Bottom the weaver who is a very dramatic pompous actor, who runs away from his wife frequently to flirt with the young damsels. His theatrical group decides to put on the play Pyrimus and Thisby, where Bottom is given the part of Pyrimus. Yet he wants to play every part in the play, trying to show off. The group decides to meet in the woods that night, which is the same night the couple will be running away. That night Demetrius leaves to find Hermia and Lysander and stop them from getting away. But without his consent Helena follows him the whole way out there, pestering and bothering him. They go off into the forest where Shakespeare brings us to a party all the fairies, spirits and mystical creates are drinking wine and frolicking around. Here we are introduced to the mischievous troublemaker Puck, who is half goat half man. He is the creature who scares maids in the sleep and frightens wives at night. The Fairy Queen Titania soon appears in front of The Fairy King Obecca. They quarrel over a special child that is left in to the queen and she leaves. The King tells Puck to find him a special flower that cupid launched his arrow at. When the dew of this flower is placed into a sleeping creatures eyes the first person they see when they awake they will fall in love with. He wants to put this dew into the queens eyes to teach her a lesson by making her fall in love with a hideous creatur e. When Puck leaves, the king spies Helena bothering Demetrius again. He hears her profess her love to him as he denies his love to her and instead professes his hatred to her. The king decides that he wants to help this poor, pitiful mortal girl by making Demetrius fall in love with her. Puck then returns with the flower and brings it to the king. While the king goes to put the

reniasance essays
reniasance essays The word renaissance, meaning rebirth is perfect to describe the renaissance because the renaissance was a period of creativity and rediscovery (Farah and Karls 402). Developments in art, architecture and literature spread from Italy to the rest of Europe as people revisited the past stories of Greek and Roman culture. These are just a few reasons why the Renaissance period should be seen as a great time of cultural evolution that paved the way for everything that was to follow. Art during the renaissance was full of complex painting and phenomenal sculpture. Italian sculptors went back in time to reflect on classical ideals of free - standing statues of nude figures that resembled those of Greek and Roman sculpture. Painters of the renaissance also used a more realistic style of painting than that of the medieval times. Medieval painting was quite flat and boring while renaissance painting was very detailed and thought out. Much like art, architecture took a step back in time during the renaissance to a classical style of building. The rebirth of such ideas was necessary to the construction of many structures during the renaissance, such as churches, palaces, and villas. On such structures, architects used columns and domes, which were used in the days of Greek and Roman, rule, instead of arches and spires found on medieval structures. Some of the most impressive and most important structures every constructed, were built during the time of renaissance and reformation. Literature of the renaissance also took a step back in time to the days of Greek and Roman rule. Interest in ancient Greece and Rome moved artists to include classical mythology as well as biblical themes in their works. The renaissance was especially known for drama. Such playwrights as William Shakespeare and Christopher Marlowe drew some of their ideas from classical mythology and histories of ancient Rome. ...

Blue tooth technology, standard and application Assignment
Blue tooth technology, standard and application - Assignment Example A number of means of connection were introduced. Getting connected to the internet via a computing device meant you could get connected to each and every other person who was connected to the internet round the world. Bluetooth was just one of the many means by which connections could get established. Bluetooth may simply be stated as a means of establishing connectivity between two or more computing devices without the need of physical connectors. Signals are transmitted via air waves in Bluetooth. It is an open protocol that established connectivity over short distances. The process involves the agreement of both the connecting devices upon a series of terms that would be followed when data would be transferred between them. These may involve the number of packets being transferred and also the size of the packets as well as the duration for which the transfer would be enabled. The technology, named after a 1000 year old king of Denmark, is one of its kinds (Mitchell, 2012). The devices get connected at usually lesser than 1Mbps over short distances around 30 feet in length at most. He united and controlled Denmark and Norway, hence the association of uniting devices through Bluetooth. Legend has it that he liked eating blueberries - so much that his teeth became stained with the colour of the fruit, giving rise to his name!â⬠(Stucken, 2010) The topology supported by the connecting network is termed as the PAN or the Piconet. In this network minimum two and at most eight devices can get connected to each other at a given particular time. The protocols that are part of the Bluetooth specifications assist in the connectivity of the devices. ââ¬Å"Using a special radio frequency to transmit data, it creates a short range network. It is very secure and can connect up to eight devices (items of electronic equipment) at the same time. The chip can be plugged into items such as

Macro and Micro Economics Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words - 1
Macro and Micro Economics - Essay Example These three components account for the significant differences observed in the various economies in the world. Economic performance in the context of institutional effects on an economy consider expropriation of risks by governments, applicable laws, quality of bureaucratic procedures in the economy unethical practices like corruption, contracts repudiation by governments, trade operations and liberties that are civil in nature. In the view of these factors, the applicability of ââ¬ËOne-Size-Fits-Allââ¬â¢ policies in developing countries can be evaluated in the global context. The underlying interest is to determine the universality and global application of a ââ¬ËOne-Size-Fits-Allââ¬â¢ policy under the context of institutionalisms. The Assessment Liberalization policies in many developing economies are yet to receive full integration into the prevailing economic systems. Regulatory frameworks that are institutionally installed have been the primary pillars of market moni toring in these economies. Levels of development vary across developing economies, and so are the levels of development in developed economies (Roland, 2004, p.109-131). The role of deregulation practices in these economies is expected to take time before it is realized, even with the notion that ââ¬ËOne-Size-Fits-Allââ¬â¢ policies of liberalization are good for domestic and international business. Africa, Asia and Latin America economies for example shows that the characteristics of, and reasons for, liberalisation are to a large extent country and sector-specific (Greif, 2006, p.164). The general take that one is good for all fails to account for the individual characteristic of each economy, and therefore the intended economic impact of such a policy may not be realized. While liberalization of market and economies in the developed nations has been procedural over time, the developing nationsââ¬â¢ case is characterized by hasty liberalization activities, backed up by pol icies that generalize the developing worldââ¬â¢s scenario. Many and more important aspects of market and economy liberalization are overlooked in the process, resulting in inappropriate capacities of regulation and public apparatus that fail to account for specific economic conditions as need be. As a result, most institutions in these economies are strained to comply, even when they face significant challenges such as: information-sharing and enforcement problems, capture risk, difficulties in introducing competition and the manifold formation of universal service obligations which arguably acquire particular connotations in developing countries (Eicher and Schreiber, 2005, p.73). ââ¬ËOne-Size-Fits-Allââ¬â¢ policies are designed to apply and function universally, whether formulated ad implemented for developed or developing economies. The institutional critique of these policies in developed countries cites their uniformity in application and functionality. However, in dev eloping countries, these policies are in a way adopted in a wholesale manner due to the fact that the institutions that advocate for them are economically influential to developing economies. In most cases therefore, the intended impact of the policies in the various economies that adopt them fail to be realized. Liberalization ââ¬ËOne-Size-Fits-Allââ¬â¢ policies for example are aimed at expanding deregulation of economies through the removal of market restrictions in terms of entry and exit, price reduction,
